School Parties

We had some fun Halloween parties at school today! I was in charge of Paige's party and we got to play with slime/gak, make foam pumpkins, decorate cookies, eat dirt, and drink witch's brew. Pretty exciting! I think the kids had fun. Ashley's class went all out and did a bunch of different centers and games. They had a whole school party with a dance tonight, which was pretty fun, too. Ashley and the other kindergarteners ran around like crazy and Paige busted some pretty cool moves on the dance floor. We were all exhausted when we got home!

My sister-in-law, Heather, found this costume for Ashley--isn't it great?? Thanks, Heather!

Paige and her teacher both dressed like puppies!

Here is Paige with our next-door-neighbor, William. I think I make her pose more than his mom makes him... They paraded around the whole school in their costumes.
Mike thought it would be fun to climb in a cubby...

The witch's brew...

All of Paige's friends are done and the table is cleaned up...she's still working on that dirt cup...
Later at the party...

Chuck-E-Cheese

This weekend, we went to a birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese. Everyone had a great time. All the kiddos are growing up so fast! Ashley wanted to hang out with her firiends and play the big kid games like air hockey, Paige wanted to show Michael all the fun rides, and Michael could actually sit on the rides without falling off. Here they are:

Twenty minutes after all the other kids had finished eating and were playing games, Paige was still working on her pizza and cake. She gets it from her Granddaddy, I think.

Snow!

It snowed yesterday! School wasn't cancelled, of course, but we were 20 minutes late (the school is normally maybe 5 minutes away) due to my granny-style driving on the icy, snowy roads. We made it just in time for Ashley's music program, which was really cute. The teacher basically showed us what they do in a class and what they're working on. The best mommy-moment of the day was when they were acting the music out with colored scarves. Ashley ran over to where we were sitting, grabbed Paige's hand, took her over to where the teacher was handing out the scarves, and made sure that Paige got some, too. She then (loudly) whispered to her what they were supposed to do all during the song. Paige loved it, I loved it--that just melted my heart! Then Ashley wanted Paige to walk her back to her classroom. By the time I made it back to the room, Paige was sitting on Ashley's lap on her spot on the carpet. I hated to break up that sweetness, but I didn't think Ashley's teacher needed an extra 3 year old in the room, so we left.
Later in the day, we took advantage of the snow and went sledding! It was seriously cold and Michael was not enjoying the snow, but we had a lot of fun and Aunt Charie even came with us!

Pumpkin Patch

Paige's preschool class had a field trip to the pumpkin patch today! We had a lot of fun--there was a maze, a corn sandbox, tractors, two big slides and lots of friends! Michael got to come, too, and he had a great time!

The perfect pumpkin! It rolled down the hill, so Paige had to go rescue the one!

It was a perfect day to go! Check out that blue sky!

Inspecting the pumpkins. (Michael thought they made great drums!)

Paige went on the little slide by herself.

Her teacher, Ms. Jami, took her on the big slide--here they are zooming past!
She looks like such a big girl in this picture! I can't believe she'll be four in a few weeks!

My favorite little candy corn!

School Pictures

The girls got their school pictures back yesterday. Here they are! Apparently, the cameraman didn't encourage them to say cheese or smile with their teeth--both have weird expressions on their faces. Both of their faces also look chubbier than I think they really are, but for school pictures, they're pretty cute.
