Our Last Days in Alabama

We've been having a lot of fun these past few days trying to cram in all the fun things to do here because we're moving on Wednesday! This weekend, we played at the pool and today, we went to a really fun nearby waterpark. We had a blast playing in the wave pool, at the sandy beach (on a river), in the kiddie play area with swings, slides, and fun sprayer things, and of course, on the big water slides. Paige surprised us all by being the one who couldn't wait to go on the big slides--she even went all by herself a few times! Michael loved sitting in the shallowest part of the wave pool and splashing his hands in the water and Ashley had a great time in the deep part of the wave pool. James even took off work early and met us there, so we all loved that! I'm afraid of mixing water and my camera, so I don't have pictures to show for our day, but it was great!

Six Month Check-Up

Michael had his 6 month check-up today and here are his stats:
Height: 281/4 inches (100th percentile)
Weight: 17 lbs 12 oz (65th percentile)
Likes:
- Real food-mashed up bananas, avacados, sweet potatoes, and carrots. The only jarred foods he likes are pears and applesauce.
- Anything that's not his toy...phones, my wallet, cords, paper
- Pulling hair...hard
- Growling at James (I'm actually a litlle worried because he does not babble at all but does growl, say "ahhhhhh" and laugh a lot. I talked to the pediatrician today and she said if he doesn't start in the next few weeks we'll have his hearing re-tested and think about starting speech therapy. I'd love to see speech therapy for a seven month old!)
- Being held--he is such a snuggler and LOVES it when I hold him. I've been using the sling a lot and he loves to help me make dinner and get little bites of the food. He actually gets his feelings hurt if I make eye contact with him and then don't pick him up. He's really sweet!

Playin' in the Rain

It's been raining quite a bit around here recently. Yesterday, there was a crazy thunderstorm with huge lightning strikes, thunder that rattled the windows, and lots of rain. We watched that one from the window. It rained today with no thunder, so I let the girls play outside in the rain.

A Day at the Pool

We tried out the public pool for the first time today. We met some friends there and had a great time. The pool was much more interesting than our normal one, since it had a great big baby pool, a regular pool, and diving boards! The friends we met there have 3 little girls, ages 5, 3, and 5 months, so everyone had someone to play with, even Michael. Ashley LOVED jumping off the diving board, and even worked up enough courage to go off the high dive, but the lifeguard said she couldn't wear the lifejacket off that one, so she decided maybe she'd try it next time. Paige worked up the courage to go all the way out to the edge of the low dive SEVERAL times, but never quite managed to jump off. They were pretty brave, I think! We're going to bring James next time and have him waiting in the water to get them. Here are the pics:

Their girl Paige's age didn't want to pose...

Mike's first playdate, Phoebe: (check out all that hair on a 5 month old!)

Mike's Allergic to...

Peas! He tried peas for the first time tonight and broke out in a rash starting around his mouth and then it moved to all over his back. Weird. He won't be eating peas again, that's for sure! Here are some pics of his mouth. It was worse than the pictures show.

Nothing bothers him, though! You can also see his 3 teeth in this one :)

Matching Outfits!

Today the kids all wore matching outfits to church! If I had the money to buy or the talent to sew clothes like this, my children would look like this everyday :) (maybe it's a good thing I can't!)

Apparently, I'm a funny photographer!

Michael took a nap and the girls and I went outside to take more pictures. Paige fell down about a minute into it, so she wasn't the happiest, but I still got some pictures. Oh, and they didn't wear their crocs to church...

Happy Fourth of July!

We had a fun 4th of July! We went to the new outdoor mall in town and ate dinner and watched a great fireworks show. Here are the pics of the day:
