I have seen a lot of really cute baby boy hats. This one, I think, has got to be one of the cutest. Especially on little Michael's head.

Haircuts and Check-ups

This is definitely not what a mother wants to see when she goes in to check on her children. No wonder they were being so quiet.

Apparently, I told Paige that she needed her bangs cut and I didn't take her to get that done quickly enough. She took matters into her own hands and recruited her (very willing, I'm sure) 4 1/2 year old sister to get the job done. We went this morning to try to fix it and here's what we came up with. Instead of a mullet, Paige now has thicker bangs than before.

We went to the doctor this past week for their check-ups and they both have had a reaction to their shots. Ashley's arm was hot, swollen, hard, and red about 4 inches all around the injection and Paige has had a fever and has not been feeling well for 3 days. Hopefully, they'll get better soon. Paige is 37 inches and weighs 31 pounds, which is 50th percentile for both and Ashley is 44 inches and 42 pounds, which is 90th percentile for height and 80th for weight, so they're both growing well. As long as they don't cut each other's hair anymore, we'll be alright. :)

Sweet Sisters

Paige has been having some nightmares and has been crying out in her sleep recently. A few days ago she cried for a minute and then suddenly stopped crying. James went in to check on her a few minutes later and called for me to come in with the camera. Here's how we found the girls--Ashley had climbed down from the top bunk and was sound asleep, holding Paige's hand. My heart melted :)

Four Weeks Old

Our little guy is four weeks old today! Michael is a sweet, easygoing baby. I can't believe he's already been here for four weeks, but it's also hard to remember what it was like before he joined our family. Here are pictures of him after his bath tonight.

I love his little mohawk--the little hairs right in the middle of his head always stick straight up.

Baby Fashion Show

The girls and I helped Michael try on some of his clothes today--he's already outgrown some of them! Here he is in a darling outfit from my parents.

Our Big Guy

We went this morning for Michael's 2 week check-up and he's really growing! He's now 10 lbs, 11 oz (90th percentile), 23 inches (off the percentile chart), and I don't remember how many cms his head is, but it was in the 70th percentile. The nurse called him a "moose" (a compliment here in this state??) and said she couldn't wait to see how big he is at his 2 month check-up and the doctor said he's doing great, so we're happy he's a healthy baby!

Michael's Second Week: Bathtime, Sisters, and Aunt Annie

This week, Michael's bellybutton healed, so he got to spend some quality time in the tub with his sisters. They're still loving being little mamas and helping me take care of him. James' sister Annie came and has been a huge help--taking care of the girls, keeping the house clean, and keeping me company. Michael hasn't been sleeping very well the last few nights--he just wants to be in bed with us and that makes me really nervous. Around 4 am, though, I give in and he'll finally go to sleep.
